I just read this article that reveals the results of a five-year study about kids and healthy school lunches. It seems that the previous studies were wrong: if school districts train their cafeteria staffs to prepare healthy foods rather than processed ones, the meals don’t cost more – and kids DO choose them over fatty foods. Eat that, McDonald’s.

I’m getting green

My annual carbon emissions are 25,579 lbs.

That’s equivalent to the emissions from 2.5 passenger cars.

Average carbon emissions per year, per person:
United States: 44,312
Qatar: 117,064
France: 13,668
India: 2,645
Kenya: 440

I’ve pledged to reduce my CO2 emissions by 9,480 pounds, or 37 percent.

It’s FRIDAY!!!

ZIP!

A funny thing happened on the way to the house…. My fly was open the whole way home from work on the train. Nothing was exposed, so whatever. I left it. I mean, when riding the el, isn’t everyone’s fly open in some way or another? Everyone stares blank-eyed at everyone else. A high school dance all over again.

Plus, I didn’t want to call attention to myself by pulling it back up.
